William Wells, CEO
William K. Wells has a BSME from Virginia Tech and a J.D. from the University Of Virginia School Of Law. He has over 30 years of experience in technology from the design and development to the related legal issues in protecting technology. In addition to having primary responsibility for the operation of the company, Mr. Wells is the named inventor on several U.S. Patents and foreign patent applications related to OLED lighting. On behalf of the company, Mr. Wells continues to advise small and mid-sized high tech companies on intellectual property matters as well.
Gerald cook, CHIEF technical advisor
Brings unparalleled technical background to Cormorant Technologies. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has his Sc.D from M.I.T. Dr. Cook is presently the Earle C. Williams Professor Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at George Mason University. Prior to joining the faculty at George Mason, he was an Assistant Professor at the U. S. Air Force Academy, an Associate Professor and Professor at the University of Virginia and Professor and Chairman of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
Maryellen McDermott, CFO
B.S in finance cum laude from George Mason University. Having worked on Wall Street with Kidder Peabody before becoming part of Cormorant Technologies, Ms. McDermott, in addition to her academic accomplishments, brings her considerable practical experience to the company.
CHRISTEN CASEY, MARKETING
B.S in retail business management from Syracuse University and currently enrolled in Harvard University`s extension school program for Marketing Management- Brand and Digital Strategy, Social Media and Analysis, Marketing Research. Ms. Casey is a seasoned global marketing communications leader with extensive work experience within entertainment audio technology, high fashion retail, advertising media and sports industries which integrates Strategy, Creative, Marketing, PR, Digital, Management, Production and Measurement across a multitude of global brand activations that engage
audiences, spanning the gap between the physical and digital lives. Ms. Casey’s years of
experience recognizing latest new technology, market trends and connecting people to
them have translated into developing successful brand strategies and business objectives
into a creative go-to-market successes based around strong messaging and consumer insights.
